Life-Changing Care
Empath Health Debuts Inaugural
Community Impact Report
WE ARE EXTREMELY EXCITED
to introduce our first-ever
Empath Health Community
Impact Report. This comprehensive piece
showcases our array of services along with
the valuable support of our community.
This past year has been an incredible
journey as we formed and launched
Empath Health, an integrated network
of care dedicated to supporting people
of all ages challenged by chronic
and advanced illness. Our member
organizations, including our cornerstone
Suncoast Hospice, work hard to meet the
changing, growing needs of the Tampa
Bay community. Across our network, we
provide expertise, support and compassion
to improve the quality of life for everyone
we serve.
I am proud of all that we accomplished
last year, made possible by the hard work
of our outstanding staff, volunteers
and boards and numerous community
supporters. We received two coveted
healthcare accreditations, expanded our
services into Hillsborough and Pasco
counties, and served 21,555 individuals
with care and services Tampa Bay-wide.
We expect to see and navigate additional
changes in health care in the future. As we
adapt and grow as Empath Health, our
promise and commitment remains the
same – to provide the highest level of care
that enhances health, comfort, dignity and
stability for every person facing a serious
illness in our entire community.
The ongoing trust and support from
people like you keeps us going strong,
and we are truly thankful. Caring for our
community is a beautiful honor and we
hope everyone will turn to us in their
journeys, even sooner if possible, to get the
assistance they need. We are here to help.

Impact Report online at EmpathHealth.org.

Our new palliative care consultation
programs with area hospitals and longterm
care facilities have been a great
success.
It is wonderful to note the satisfaction
of the many families who have benefited
from our Suncoast Hospice care. In 2014,
98% of all families we served in Suncoast
Hospice said they would recommend
our care to others. Although hospice care
has been our longtime foundation and
specialty for 38 years, we are fortunate to
offer a rich spectrum of care and services.
We have home health and palliative care,
advance care planning and physician
services, as well as support for the
bereaved, chronically-ill seniors and those
impacted by HIV/AIDS. The backing of
our fundraising, education and technology
organizations helps further support our
mission.
