Uelsmann Untitled –
A Retrospective
Jerry Uelsmann taught photography at
the University of Florida from 1960 until he
retired. Over the years, his works have been
exhibited in over 100 shows throughout the
world and are in the collections of museums
such as The Metropolitan, the Museum of
Modern Art, The Whitney, The Chicago
Institute, The National Museum of Art in
Washington, D.C., the Victoria and Albert in London and many others. He has
helped to transform photography through digitally manipulated images, although
he adheres to purely analog tools. Uelsmann is a master of photo montage,
integrating multiple images and processing effects, as he merges the subjective and
objective into one. This retrospective of his work is published by the University
Press of Florida.
This year, the Florida

Chihuly Collection on the Move
After six years on Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg,
the Chihuly Collection will be relocating to a new space on
the 700 block of Central Avenue across from the Morean
Arts Center. Roger Ross, the interim director of the Morean
Arts Center, believes the new proximity will benefit both the
Collection and the Arts Center. Andy Schlauch, the executive
director of the Chihuly Collection, says that the new location
will be a chance to showcase Chihuly’s artwork with more
flexibility. The net proceeds of the Collection are used to
help support and sustain the educational programs at the
Morean. The move won’t take place until the fall of next year.
