
IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented
By Mazda Returns To Sebring
With New Endurance Race Format

two-driver combination with a required minimum-time
pit stop.
The new format made its debut back in January with the
series’ inaugural season-opening race at Daytona International
Speedway.

scored an historic fi rst of his
own, winning the series’ inaugural
race at Daytona International
Speedway in his series debut in the
No. 4 Ligier JS P3 for ANSA Motorsports.

One year after celebrating the debut of its new LMP3 class,
the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda returns
to Sebring International Raceway with a loaded entry list
of aspiring future IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
drivers and veteran drivers alike.
The series continues to feature two classes, blending the
closed-cockpit LMP3 prototypes from a variety of constructors
with the longstanding, Mazda Prototype Challenge
(MPC) class that uses the Élan DP02 chassis powered
by Mazda engines.
The multi-class series does; however, feature a signifi cant
enhancement for the second consecutive season – a new
1-hour, 45-minute endurance race format. The new en-
