Healthcare FSA and HRA Dollars: Which Pays First?
When you have a Healthcare FSA as well as an HRA, your medical
expenses will be paid by your Healthcare FSA first. Because the IRS
has a “use it or lose it” rule for any remaining FSA funds over $500,
your HRA dollars will be applied after all Healthcare FSA money has
been used.
If you prefer to use HRA funds for medical claims payments
instead of FSA funds:
1. Log in to myuhc.com
2. Go to Claims and Accounts
3. Select Plan Balances
4. Select Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
5. Select Add/Change – Automatic Payment Setting
6. Choose Discontinue and then Confirm
FSA participation is available
to all full-time Team Members
whether or not you are on a
PFJ health plan.
