2018 PRESIDENTIAL VOLUNTEERS SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENTS
HAYWOOD COUNTY HONOR GUARD
The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is the premier
Volunteer Award for community service. The award is
issued for service hours for a 12-month period. There are three
levels of the award based on hours of service- Bronze, Silver
and Gold (the highest award for over 1,000 hours of service).
Thirteen members of the Haywood County Honor Guard, made
up of members from American Legion Post 47 and Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 5202, received the Gold Level Award for
2018. The award was presented to both Posts by the Haywood
County Board of Commissioners on June 17, 2019, and each
member received a lapel pin.
