The historic Reece Heritage
Farm explores the life of “Farmer
Poet” Byron Herbert Reece through
early 1900s buildings and exhibits
that capture rural life in Appalachia.
You can walk the Poetry Trail, visit
Reece’s writing studio, picnic along
Wolf Creek or stop by the petting
farm. A hiking trail connects the
farm to Vogel State Park, which
shares its history in the CCC
Museum. The exhibits celebrate
FDR’s New Deal project that put
young men to work during The
Great Depression.
