How is natural gas delivered to my
home?
Interstate pipelines interconnect with other pipelines and
other utility systems, offering system operators flexibility
in moving gas from one point to the next. Natural gas
eventually reaches Clearwater Gas System through a gate
station, where it is measured and injected with an odorant
for safety. Then, it is distributed to homes and businesses
through our local distribution system of pipelines, mains
and service lines. At current residential rates, natural gas is
70 percent cheaper to operate versus electric energy.
What is the process to convert to
natural gas for my home/business?
Homeowners and business owners may contact Clearwater
Gas System’s sales team at 562-4980 to inquire about the
availability of natural gas and to schedule a new customer
appointment. The overall conversion process takes about
eight to ten weeks. The most common uses for typical
household gas applications include water heating, cooking,
clothes drying, pool/spa heating, generator hook up and
home heating. Propane gas energy is available in areas where
natural gas infrastructure may not have been installed.
