Ray Weaver of Palm Harbor
started writing 15 years ago
and has had four stories
selected for inclusion in the
Chicken Soup for the Soul books. He
has published 10 previous books. His
11th novel, Perseverance, is composed
of two separate tales, the first being
“The Challenges of Father Juan,”
concerning a Spanish priest who is
instrumental in saving a rundown
Catholic church in Boston, as he deals
with his own personal challenges. The
second story is “The Secrets of Cassie
Seldon,” which involves an orphan
who immigrates to the United States
to live with her grandmother. Despite
becoming a successful doctor and
having a loving family, she continues
to feel the pain of her youth. Both of
these protagonists are resilient and
determined individuals, who will pull
