Clearwater Historical Society Fish Fry
The Clearwater Historical Society, which is dedicated to educating, collecting, preserving, exhibiting and promoting the people,
culture and events of Clearwater’s rich past, held its spring Fish Fry at its new home, the Clearwater Historical Society Museum and
Cultural Center in downtown Clearwater. The 5-acre campus with its historic buildings that once housed South Ward Elementary
School was the ideal location for the society’s annual mid-day fundraiser. In addition to lunch, music, old-fashioned games under
the oaks, a vintage car show, local featured authors including Dr. Fred Hosley and Daryl May, and the museum itself, attendees
enjoyed visiting with old and new friends. The society’s president, Allison Dolan was thankful that after a year’s hiatus, the group’s
signature sold-out event could be held at its new location for the first time.
Brenda May and her writer husband
Daryl May, a former lawman, guitarist and
entertainer, sold all the copies they
brought with them of his second book,
The Whole Shootin’ Match.

American Stage “Raised the Curtain” on a new era of live theater at a gala fundraiser held on the grounds of The Factory St. Pete,
Liz Dimmitt’s new creative arts destination. In addition to libations and tapas, the evening featured musical and theatrical performances.
These included a tongue-in-cheek scene from the upcoming live and outdoors Romeo and Juliet in America (The One with the Happy
Ending), directed by L. Peter Callender, plus an announcement of the professional live theater group’s other 2021-2022 season offerings.
Steve Westphal and Nancy Westphal of
Parkshore Grill, who were thanked for their
support, were glad for the opportunity to
visit with friends before the program began.
Brad and Mary Ann Morse were among the
avid bidders and winners during the live
auction that was held to raise additional
funds for American Stage.

throughout the alfresco evening.
