Women’s History Exhibit
The Clearwater Historical Society hosted a reception and ribbon cutting to mark the opening of its second annual Women’s
History Exhibit, which honors nine local women who devoted their time, talent and treasure to serving, shaping and improving
the town of Clearwater and the county of Pinellas. The honorees are the late Willa Carson, Ruth Eckerd, Cherry Harris, Blanche
Littlejohn, Ruth Payne Stone, Jean Rees Homer and Peggy Word, plus the still very active Barb Green and Sallie Parks, who
continue to make the Tampa Bay area a better place to live and thrive. The exhibit and opening reception were presented by the
Pinellas Community Foundation and dedicated to the late Suzanne Lambert Ruley. The exhibit at the Clearwater Historical Society,
610 S. Fort Harrison Ave. in Clearwater, will be open Saturdays and by appointment through August 27th, (727) 754-8019.
