Dunedin, as part of the RIP Medical
Debt program nonprofit, have
raised $17,000 to erase $1.7 million
in medical debt for Pinellas County
residents who were unable to repay
their debts. Despite the pandemic,
the church members were able to
exceed their original goal of $15,000
because of the generosity of the
St. Francis of Assisi Old Catholic
Church Parish.

Dan Shouvlin, president and
CEO of Clear Skyz Inc., which
includes Frenchy’s and Clear
Sky Restaurants, announced the
opening of the company’s latest
restaurant, Clear Sky Club Haus
in Palm Harbor. Dan, who is in
his third year as president of the
Pinellas Restaurant Association,
was excited that the Florida
Restaurant Association’s annual
summer gathering was held on
Clearwater Beach this year.
Caladesi Island State Park
in Dunedin, accessible by the
Caladesi Ferry that operates
from Honeymoon Island, has once
again been ranked one of the Top 10
beaches in America by Dr. Stephen
Leatherman, who is known as “Dr.
Beach.” St. George Island State Park
in the Florida Panhandle is the other
Florida beach that made the list.
Dr. Joel Goodman, director of
The Humor Project, has chosen the

Eugenie Bondurant, who played
the occultist, and Paul Wilson, who
played Carl Glatzel in the film The
Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,
greeted fans at a private screening of
the film at the AMC movie theater
at the Sundial in St. Petersburg. This
third installment in the Conjuring
series starred Paul’s brother
Patrick Wilson. After the viewing,
former TV newsman John Wilson
moderated a talk back with the two
actors and the audience.
Darcy Schuller has joined the
Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg
as its director of marketing and
communication. Darcy is a graduate
of Michigan State University and has
an MFA in strategic marketing and
information technology management
from the School of Business at the
University of Texas in Austin. She
has held senior marketing roles for
many organizations.
Jonathan Fleece, president and CEO of Stratum Health System of Sarasota,
and Rafael Sciullo, president and CEO of Empath Health of Clearwater,
have announced the merger of the two nonprofits to become our country’s
largest hospice-based integrated network of care for those affected by chronic
or advanced illness. The newly combined Empath Health, headquartered
in Clearwater, will retain both Empath’s Suncoast Hospice and Stratum’s
Tidewell Hospice Foundations, which provide financial resources through
their supporters with Sciullo as CEO.
