35. PUBLICATIONS
In the case of official publications, i.e., where the paper or magazine is described as "published" by the school, and/or the school
provides a faculty advisor and/or the funds for printing and distribution, the school, the student author, and the student editors
are liable and accountable for whatever is published. Accordingly, the school has a paramount right to ensure that whatever is
published observes the strictures against malicious injury, defamation, obscenity and incitement to disorder, injury or illegal acts.

36. SKIPPING CLASSES
A student who is not where he/she is assigned to be at any given time is skipping class. Level 1/ Level 2.
37. RECKLESS DRIVING AND/OR SPEEDING ON SCHOOL PROPERTY PROHIBITED
Level 3/Level 4.
38. INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHINGAND PERSONALARTICLES
PROHIBITED CLOTHING AND DEFINITIONS OF ACCEPTABLE WEAR
• Any clothing warranting safety concerns, such as trench coats and loose or baggy pants or shirts as determined by the
school’s administrator
• Any clothing with holes or tears above the knee that expose skin or undergarments. Tears and holes above the knee should be
patched to completely cover the manufactured hole. Naturally occurring holes should be patched completely. No skin or
undergarment, regardless of size of tear, should be shown above the knee.
• Shirts that are strapless are prohibited.
• Shirts, blouses, tops that are not long enough to be tucked in are prohibited.
• Skirts, dresses, pants, and shorts must be no less in length than four inches (equivalent to two horizontal credit card or ID cards)
above the top of the knee for grades 5 and above.
• Leggings, yoga pants, and other tight clothing must be accompanied by a top shirt (tunic style) that is long enough to cover the
entire buttock area and be the same length in the front of the top. Failure to meet all requirements is inappropriate.
• Sheer, exposing, provocative, and revealing clothing is prohibited.
• Tank Tops, Muscle Shirts, etc. worn by students in grades 5 and above are prohibited.
• Clothing with a message that is obscene, profane, lewd, vulgar, or that “harasses, threatens, intimidates, or demeans an
individual or group of individuals, or a sub population, because of gender, color, race, religion, handicap, national origin, or
sexual orientation, or that advertises illegal substances such as alcohol, drugs, and/or tobacco products” are prohibited.
PROHIBITED PERSONAL ARTICLES
• Any article warranting safety concerns
• Any article, including makeup, jewelry, any piercings other than the ears including piercing retainers, or any other
personal adornment that disrupts the educational process as determined by the school administrator
• Bandannas
• The wearing of hats, caps, bandannas, hoods, other head gear, etc. in school buildings
• Blankets and body wraps for grades three and up unless being transported and used
for overnight trips.
Levels 1-4 apply to violations.

40. GANGS & CULTS
Students are prohibited from promoting or associating themselves with gangs and cults in any way through behavior, clothing,
personal adornment, or possession of gang- or cult--related items or paraphernalia. Levels 1-4.
