Bonnie Oliver Brandon’s quiet servant
leadership has served churches and
communities city-wide. Through grants
from health care organizations like, the
American Cancer Society, and combined
affiliates Methodist Health Care, West
Cancer Center, and others, she addresses
African American Health Disparities in
publications and seminars.

from the Valero Company in 2014. During
her tenure, she was a member of the
Refinery Leadership Team, and served as
Director of Environmental Health, Safety
and Security.
She was the first minority to hold the
position of Director at the Valero Memphis
Refinery. Never being satisfied with being
the first, she is the Coordinator of One
Church One School, a partnership for the
Church with the Lucie E. Campbell
Elementary School. Collaborating with
officials, she met all needs of the students
through mentoring, clothing, food, gift
cards, and grants to the school by the
Church and other Community Resources.
Then, she shared content with them to help
build character and social values. She also
introduced them to careers in science and
technology. The success of this program
led her to the position of One Church One
School Coordinator for the West Tennessee
Region. The program now serves over
fifty schools.
She has a supportive and loving
husband, Booker T. Boyd Jr, and two
sons, Booker Jr., and Brandon. She is a
grandmother. Lady Boyd is a member
of the NAACP, Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc. Beta Epsilon Omega
Chapter, Chairman of the Board
of Directors of Ballet on Wheels Dance
School and Company, and a Lane
College Board of Trustee.
