example of a
servant’s heart
that feeds the
homeless, comforts the sick, and prays for the
broken. She is is the Assistant Director Director o
of Family
Focus Focus Outreach for Faith Faith Temple Temple Min
Ministries. This
Outreach Ministry feeds 50-55 homeless weekly.
Anita’s team of volunteers feed the homeless every
Friday on Jefferson and Claybrook, at the bus stops,
on Cleveland, and under the Danny Thomas Bridge.
And when the laborers are few, she cooks all the
food. And when the donations are few or none at
all, she uses her resources. She refuses to allow the
ministry to stop because she sees the need from day
to day. Because of her compassion for the homeless,
she launched a Blanket Drive and distributes them as
the winter season approaches.
She is also the Prayer Group Director at Faith
Temple Ministries. Before the pandemic, Anita, and
her “Prayer Warriors” would monthly visit and
minister to patients at the Nursing Homes
in the Whitehaven area. But she does not stop there.
She coordinates with health professionals
to make sure the congregation receives quality
health information. Last year, Methodist Health
Care System chose her as the 2020 “Liaison of
the Year”. A true servant has no agenda, only
God and a servant’s heart leads her.
