“We utilize the latest technological advances at Hamilton
Medical Center,” says neonatologist Victor Thomas, MD.
“We also focus on preparing the entire family to care for
their child before and after discharge. Our families receive
a very high level of personalized care and attention.”
Hamilton Medical Center’s Level III NICU provides 24-

newborn infants. Hamilton’s NICU team includes boardcerti
ed neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists,
pharmacists, lab technicians, and radiologists. “We have
cutting-edge technology and we provide excellent care

Family-Centered Care
Hamilton believes in family-centered care and offers a
unique open door NICU policy that allows parents to
visit their baby almost any time, day or night. Hamilton’s
NICU is the only NICU between Atlanta and Nashville that
allows parents to spend the night in the NICU with their child.
Typically, the last night of an infant’s stay in the NICU is
spent in the parent care room to simulate a typical night
at home. On this night, care is provided by the parents.
Specially-trained nurses and neonatologists are on hand
if needed.
