Visions of the Year to Come 2015
John J. Piazza, Sr.
President and Founder
Armed Forces History Museum
We are excited and optimistic about the forthcoming
New Year. Coming off of a positive and
successful year, we believe 2015 will generate
even more tourists and activity in the Tampa Bay
area. Our hopes and anticipation are based on
the uptick in the local economy, which has
resulted in our experiencing increased admissions,
school field trips, group events and attendance at
our special event fundraisers.
Another bright spot has been a noticeable
increase in our unique WWII M8 reconnaissance
vehicle combat rides, which as a separate ticket
item, demonstrates that the economy is turning
for the better.
With the Tampa Bay region and the Clearwater
beaches offering such a diverse array of attractions,
culture and beauty, we are confident that residents
and tourists alike will recognize what we have to
offer as we salute America’s true heroes with
intrigue, excitement and respect.

The following are my predictions and hopes. A
resolution and solid regional plan will be conceived
for keeping the Rays in Tampa Bay. Pinellas,
Hillsborough and Pasco will come together to
work on a transit plan that will serve citizens
across county lines that spurs economic growth
and job creation. Tourism will hit all-time highs in
no small measure to improvements at TIA, minor
league baseball, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium
and the arts scene in St. Petersburg.
