I know, y’all! Why hasn’t this fabulous lady been featured sooner???
Well, we finally got there! Jamy Shearouse Monroe is the lady of the
month! Jamy Girl is indeed something special, not only as your bartender
at Tybee Time, but as a human being in general. Everybody loves Jamy
Girl! Never a bad word to say about anyone and always smiling (and
occasionally showing her butt - LOL), Jamy is awesome!
Jamy was born and raised on Wilmington (just across the bridge,
folks). Graduating from Johnson High, Jamy went to every college within
commuting distance. A self-confessed ‘professional student,’ Jamy was
determined to become a nurse. Well bless her heart, it wasn’t meant
to be. She started working at Wachovia Bank and quickly rose up the
ranks to become the Head Teller with her smarts and terrific personality.
Unfortunately, her school schedule began to interfere with her work
schedule and she decided to change vocations. In 2001 she walked into
Fannie’s to apply for a position as a server and was hired on the spot!
Starting out for the very first time in the service industry is tough.
Personality is great, but you better be ready to shift your butt! Jamy says
she wasn’t the best server out of the starting gate. One day the bartender
said she was going on break and asked Jamy to cover for her. Jamy said
she was so happy she drank a lot, as she had no clue what she was doing,
but knew what liquor went into the drinks that were ordered and handled
it. Instant success!! That smile! That personality that shines through. Jamy
might be gritting her teeth at you, but you will never know it. That is a
professional right there!

On November 11, 2017, Jamy married the love her life: Danny Monroe.
This was a very long awaited wedding! Those two have been together
forever and we all knew it was going to happen, but damn, y’all! Put us out
of our misery and just do it! It finally happened and Jamy is now the official
papered proud owner of a husband and two gorgeous kids: Wren and
Tatum. Life is good for the Monroe Clan.
I asked Jamy Girl the basic Questions of Life:

Spirit Animal: Dolphin! They are intelligent, have a playful nature and
are family oriented.
I asked Jamy her go-to drink and she says she makes a killer
Margarita! Her secret: It’s made with love!!! A hilarious story here is that
at Fannie’s she started making her Love Margarita and became rather
renowned for it. When she moved to Tybee Time, she was told by several
customers that their margarita wasn’t that good and could she make them
something else. Blow to the ego there. She finally figured out the problem:
All soda guns are different. She was adding what she thought was Sour
Mix, but was actually Grapefruit Juice! Love that story!!! Go see Jamy Girl
at Tybee Time!!! After 13 years, Jamy Girl has her soda gun figured out!!
