ART
Through a rare set of circumstances, personal connections and other factors, the
Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg has devoted one of its galleries to European
masterpieces on loan from the Mellon Collection at the Virginia Museum of
Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia. The eleven paintings begin with an 1820 oil
painting by Eugène Delacroix and conclude with a 1952 painting by Georges Braque
in order to represent more than 100 years of art in this exhibit.
