Downtown Dunedin
has managed to
remain relevant to
the dining public
without having any national
restaurant chains by relying
on local entrepreneurs who
have developed unique dining styles
that miraculously are not duplicated.
One of those places is the new Broadway
Kitchen and Deli on Broadway, just south
of Main Street. This casual eatery serves
breakfast and lunch every day of the week
in an inviting environment that includes
a shaded, pet-friendly patio. They don’t
pretend to be sophisticated here, but they
do pride themselves in using top-quality,
fresh ingredients that are made to your
specifications. The friendly staff welcomes
you to their “home” in a manner that will
make you feel as though you are visiting
your favorite relatives.
The all-day breakfast menu has basics
such as an egg sandwich with American
cheese or two eggs any style with your
choice of ham, bacon, sausage, kielbasa
or bratwurst. They offer California, Irish,
everything is about choice.
Likewise, there are six
burgers that range from
one stuffed with bacon and
Cheddar to a vegan veggie
burger. Added to this are
three salads: a California
Cobb, a spinach and mixed field greens and
a wedge of iceberg lettuce, which again,
can be made to order. Of course, you can
also top a house salad with house-made
shrimp, chicken or tuna salad, or with
grilled shrimp or chicken.
In keeping with its location in downtown
“Dog-edin,” they have a special for your
furry friends –– Merrick grain free Kibbles
with egg and bacon in assorted sizes, and
water bowls for patio dining.
This is a friendly place to relax, unwind
and pick up a little energy by ordering a
cold or hot drink and something sweet, as
you visit this popular area of Tampa Bay. 9

American and Cowboy-themed three-egg
omelets with your choice of toast, cheese
and hash browns or cheesy grits. Or, you
can select your personal favorite ingredients
to create your own version. There are also
pancakes and French toast, in addition to
house-made corned beef hash and daily
specials.
If you are not in the mood for breakfast,
lunch is served all day as well. You can order
a deli sandwich, choosing the type of bread,
cheese and meat that you prefer, or prepared
salads of shrimp, tuna, or Southern-style
chicken. They even have pepper-crusted
pastrami and corned beef served hot from
the steamer, if you like. You can choose
a variety of sausages with caramelized
onions and sautéed peppers, or one of six
chicken sandwiches, the Ultimate Grilled
Cheese or a grilled veggie sandwich. Here,
