auctioneer, while his wife, Margaret Word

the auction and gave generously to become
opera luminaries.

of the gala and are regular attendees who
support Opera Tampa.

Countryside Dermatology and Laser Center
in Clearwater were aria sponsors of the gala.
Faith “Cookie” Simmons and her tax guru
husband Charlie once again sponsored the
Anton Coppola Excellence in the Arts Award
that they helped to establish.
Mary K Wilson, a noted voice educator,
attended with her husband John, the former
Fox-TV news anchor who served as the
evening’s master of ceremonies.
Philanthropist Bob Schmidt and
Elizabeth Elmeer were the high bidders
in the live auction for the wine and food
dinner donated by Cafe Ponte.
