Snitzer at
Museum of Fine Arts
Photographer Herb Snitzer has been
capturing images of people for 61 years, and
you can see his work through August 5th
in a show at the Museum of Fine Arts, St.
Petersburg. The exhibit, “Can I Get a Witness:
Photographs by Herb Snitzer,” documents
social justice causes, and selections from the
museum’s collection of his portfolio, “Such
Sweet Thunder,” focus on musicians. Herb,
who is 85 years old, moved to St. Petersburg in
1992, and is continuing his career by capturing
the city’s multicultural atmosphere with his
camera. The Museum of Fine Arts is at 255
Beach Drive N.E. in downtown St. Petersburg.
Herb Snitzer’s photograph of jazz great
Nina Simone laughing, a gift to the Museum
of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg in honor of its
50th anniversary in 2015 and in memory
of Nina, was taken in 1959.

A Pinnacle Vodka French Floridian was
served to us at Tampa’s Mise en Place with
a salad of shaved radish frisée, hearts of
palm, grilled white asparagus, fig jam and
some crispy Serrano ham.
Pinnacle’s
French Floridian
France’s Pinnacle Vodka, made
from 100 percent whole-grain winter
wheat, is lighter and smoother than
vodka made from potatoes, corn or
rye. Pure spring water, naturally
filtered through limestone, helps
to remove impurities and gives the
vodka a crisp, fresh taste after it is
distilled five times in the heart of the
country’s Cognac region. This crystal
clear premium libation has won
numerous awards. We found it ideal
for our favorite cocktail, the French
Floridian. Mix two parts Pinnacle
Original Vodka with one part fresh
lemon juice and a bar spoon of orange
marmalade. Shake ingredients, strain
into a martini glass and garnish with
twist of orange peel. We hope you will
love it as much as we did.
