CHOOSING COLORS
FOR YOUR STAINED
GLASS QUILT
Achieving a true “stained” glass look
for this quilt will rely heavily on your
fabric choices. Rather than a usual fat
quarter bundle of patterned fabrics, try
experimenting with batiks, marbled fabrics,
or even silks for a more “glassy” look.
FABRICS
Let the stained glass look stand for itself
without any distraction from prints. Great
fabric choices will add bold colors and a
visual texture or swirled look to the fabric.
THREADS
Since this quilt is built around its appliqués,
keep threads simple: a charcoal or black
for the leading look in the designs, as well
as a matching thread for borders and the
background fabrics.
NOTIONS
With the included SVG files for all your
appliqués and borders, you’ll only need a
rotary cutter and straight edge to clean up
your blocks.
