Medicare 101 Presentation
Medicare 101 is conducted by specially
trained volunteers of the SHINE
program and will provide detailed
information on the basics of Medicare,
including Medicare supplement
insurance, Medicare Advantage plans,
and financial assistance programs.
SHINE representatives will be available
to answer questions and provide
enrollment or benefit application
assistance.

All About Traveling with Physical
Challenges
When adults experience new or
worsening disabilities, less-abilities
or physical challenges, many believe
that traveling away from home is
no longer possible, but this does
not have to be true. Smart planning
and good information make all the
difference. Gloria Corrigan, life
coach and disability advocate, and
Jen Rosa, special needs certified travel
agent, have extensive experience with
planning and implementing numerous
trips for travelers who face physical
challenges. This presentation presents
real-life stories and travel tips that come
from having enjoyed these journeys
personally.

SHINE One-on-One Medicare
Counseling
Serving Health Insurance Needs of
Elders is a free program offered by the
Florida Department of Elder Affairs
and the local Area Agency on Aging.
Specially trained volunteers can assist
with Medicare, Medicaid and health
insurance questions by providing oneon
one counseling and information.
SHINE services are free, unbiased and
confidential. Registration is required.

Nan Colton as Mina Miller Edison:
Living with a Genius
Mina Miller married the genius who
changed the known world, Thomas
Alva Edison, in 1886. Mrs. Edison
shared with the great inventor the last
45 years of his life. How did she do
it? In this presentation, the storyteller
identifies with Mina as she tells about
her daily events. Mina's conversation
takes place as if it were 1928 and is
presented in authentic period costume.
