Florida Aquarium Releases Sea Turtles
The Florida Aquarium’s Animal Response Team returned a sub-adult loggerhead
sea turtle and three juvenile green sea turtles back to the Atlantic Ocean at Flagler
Beach in Flagler County. The aquarium is authorized to treat sick or injured
endangered sea turtles at its Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center in Apollo Beach. The
four turtles were suffering from cold-stunning and other debilitating effects when
they were rescued on the east coast of Florida. The Florida Aquarium performs its
care and rehabilitation with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and
the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. To learn more about the
Florida Aquarium’s sea turtle conservation efforts, visit flaquarium.org/seaturtles. 9
