The Amanyara was designed by Windstar Homes to have the ultimate in floor plan flexibility.
Windstar Homes has garnered over 70 national
and regional design/build awards for its
homes. Among its custom homes are two for
the same client – an award-winning Italian Renaissance
home and located next to it, the Amanyara, which
means peaceful place.
The main design challenge for Amanyara was to create
the ultimate in floor plan flexibility. The client wanted
a second home to be used as a retreat away from his

things such as a music studio, card room, home fitness
center, and more. The idea was to design the home so
that when he wanted to sell it, the home could easily
transform to a more conventional “family plan” without
a lot of effort.

One of the most notable features in this 5,000-squarefoot,
five bedroom, seven-bathroom residence is its
glass enclosed courtyard, which features 10-foot-tall
walls of disappearing glass doors. The open floor plan
design allows the interior and exterior spaces to flow
seamlessly together. This synergistic relationship gives
the home a genuine sense of openness and grandeur.
Other important design features are the entry portico,
fitness center oversized gourmet kitchen, ale bar and
private guest casita. Only Windstar Homes could have
accomplished this concept.

the client wants and needs. The team then transforms
these ideas and dreams into a final blueprint, turning
