In addition to the patch panels, installers can consider
using the hyper-capacity fanout cable that can break
out the hyper-capacity, self-cleaning and protecting
universal multi-fiber connector (any number of strands)
into compatible LC or MPO connection(s). Stringently
third-party tested with the 96-fiber hyper-capacity connector
and LCs, the cable is compliant to Telcordia GR-1435-
Core Issue 2, Telcordia GR-326 Issue 4, TIA/EIA-604-10
(FOCIS-10) and IEC 61754-20 for the interface, UL94 V-0
flammability rating, as well as OFNP compliance. The
hyper-capacity 96-fiber connector (APC polishing) and
LC (UPC polishing) generated again only 0.35 dB and
0.25 dB insertion loss respectively for this rounded cord
SMF cable (Figures 22 and 23).

What some may consider a revolutionary feature
of the hyper-capacity patch panel is a flex adapter that
provides an additional 45 degrees of universal bend
radius at the hyper-capacity connector’s hinge, thereby
helping to reduce cable strain and allow for new possibilities
in cable management (Figure 20).
Another feature of the hyper-capacity patch panel
is a rapid latch system that allows for rack mounting
by hand, eliminating the need for tools, screws, and
additional hardware as shown in Figure 21.
FIGURE 20: Shown is the patch panel’s specially designed
flex adapter and its various positions of flex and rotation.

system on either side
of the patch panel
with its turn dials
that allow for
toolless mounting.
FIGURE 22: The hyper-capacity fanout cable can convert
a hyper-capacity, self-cleaning and protecting universal multifiber
connector directly to either LC or MPO connectors
at very low insertion and return loss. Shown is a hyper-capacity
fanout cable with 96 fibers that converts directly
to 48 LC connectors.

cable with 96 fibers converted to 12 eight-strand
MPO connectors (QSFPs).
