Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Friends of Music
Diana Ross entertained a select group of donors to Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall at the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre
in Clearwater. This special evening was for the members of the Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Friends of Music program, which annually
presents three intimate concerts featuring legendary musicians. The evening featured a red carpet arrival, rooftop karaoke and
food provided by Clear Sky on Cleveland. To become involved, call Laura LeBlanc at (727) 712-2712.

The Bilheimer Capitol Theatre in downtown
Clearwater is named after Nancy and David
Bilheimer, who have made a significant
impact on our area with their generous
donations.
Most of you, our
readers, understand
the “why” of our
Social Seens. These are not just
parties where people attend for
fun and enjoyment. Each event
is a key to raising significant
donations to support our area’s
worthy nonprofits. Attending
and covering them alerts you
as to how these organizations
benefit our community and
may encourage you to become
involved. The fundraisers
are necessary events to raise
money and awareness for these charities that help make the
Tampa Bay area what it is.
The less obvious answer to the “how” of our Social Seens is the
method we use to select which events will be covered and what
will be included about them. We normally do not print Social
Seens of events that we do not attend
because of our limited space. The
secret to having an event appear in
the magazine is to invite us to attend
and cover the occasion. Not every
thing is used in Social Seens, but if we
attend, there will be coverage with a
photo in Upfront, Buzzworthy or The
Ear sections of Tampa Bay Magazine.
People from many organizations send
us information and photographs
after the event because they do not
understand that is not our method of
operation. Therefore, to have an event
included in the magazine, please call
Margaret Word Burnside at (727) 791-4800 to see if we are available
to attend your fundraiser. We want to help you promote the
nonprofit of your choice if we possibly can. 9
