Ron Barnette, Ph.D., professor emeritus of philosophy at
the University of California in Irvine and a former City of
Dunedin commissioner, along with his wife Candy, met
with Steve Martin backstage following his performance
at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. The actor/performer/
musician has been the Barnettes’ close friend since the two
men were undergraduate philosophy majors together at
California State College over 50 years ago.
Ear to Tampa Bay
Victoria Bailey, center, was thanked by Blair Kooi, the Dunedin History
Museum’s board president, and its executive director Vinnie Luisi for
unveiling her book, Savor a Taste of Florida’s West Coast Signature Restaurant
Recipes, during a reception and book signing at the downtown Dunedin
museum’s 50th anniversary celebration, which featured local restaurant,
brewery and distillery tastes at the museum.

honorary chair for Charity Works’ 20th
annual Monopoly Night, an evening
benefit of dining, fun and games in
Belleair, which has been postponed.....

Sam McClelland, class of 1966, Sarah Brown Caudell,
class of 1964, and Dave Ferguson, class of 1965, organized a
“Last Walk Through” of their alma mater, Clearwater High
School, which was attended by an estimated 1,200 former
students, teachers, coaches and administrators. The trio also
helped spearhead a cocktail party and dinner that evening at
the Clearwater Country Club, which was filled with alumni and
friends from CHS’s graduating classes of 1963 through 1966.
