Clearwater, announced that Ocean
Allies has certified Ruth Eckerd Hall
in Clearwater as “Ocean Friendly”
for using compostable material
products in its food and beverage
department, eliminating straws
and offering paper straws upon
request, and using eco-friendly
cleaning products. Ocean Allies is
dedicated to merging the goals of
conservation, tourism and business
by educating the public about ocean
health, while working to inspire
people to make simple switches
to protect the marine ecosystem.
Relief for the Pinellas
Arts Community
Four organizations – Creative
Pinellas, the St. Petersburg Arts
Alliance, the Foundation for
a Healthy St. Petersburg and the
Pinellas Community Foundation
– have formed the Pinellas Arts
Community Relief Fund to provide
urgent financial support for Pinellas
County artists, arts organizations
and creative businesses that have
immediate needs in the face of the
COVID-19 emergency. The fund’s
goal is to ensure that the vibrant arts
and cultural landscape of Pinellas
County remains intact through this

Stratum Health System, the parent organization for Tidewell Hospice, is focused on managing
the continuum of care through hospice and home-based care in Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte
and DeSoto counties. The newly created and combined “United in Care” organization will
become the largest not-for-profit integrated hospice-based network of care in the country,
caring for more than 6,000 people a day, while maintaining the same names, including
Suncoast and Tidewell hospices.
Clearwater History Museum Honors Women
The Clearwater Historical Society has an exhibit at its museum honoring
eight important women in Clearwater’s past. The women selected are
Jennie Plumb, Christine Wigfall Morris, Mary Lou Baker, Arabella
Williams Faust, Betty McGraw Perkins, Jai Hinson, Dr. Zena Lansky
and Dr. Jean Lester Bennett. The exhibit, when open, is on display at
610 S. Fort Harrison Ave. in Clearwater from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday
through Saturday in the museum’s Heritage Hall and was sponsored
by Judy Lisi, the Straz Center, Brad and Mary Ann Morse and Jane and
Walt Wickman, Betty McGraw Perkins’ grandson. 9
Dr. Zena Lansky, Jai Hison and Dr. Jean Lester Bennett were
three of the women selected by the Clearwater Historical Society
Museum for its 2020 Women’s History Month honorees.
Sheri Heilman of the Ocean Allies nonprofit presented the
Ocean Allies certification to John Cirelli, Ruth Eckerd Hall
food & beverage director, and Brianna Hoskins, the hall’s
director of operations.
