WILL SIMPSON
Finding His Passion
104 TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE | JULY/AUGUST 2020
The gift of a GoPro camera
nudged Will Simpson into
photography just three years
ago. Growing up in Atlanta, he
never considered himself an artist. After
moving to Clearwater and graduating
from high school, he spent 10 years
in a variety of endeavors that ranged
from skin care sales to authoring and
publishing a book on sales and a fiction
book, The Chosen – Council of Shadow
Series, which became an Amazon Best
Seller. But when he showed a visiting
Los Angeles filmmaker friend the video
he had made with his GoPro, he was
offered the opportunity to work as his
apprentice.
