COVID-19 and
Tampa Bay Magazine
Tampa Bay Magazine has good
news and bad news. The bad news
is that the pandemic has cut our
revenues. However, the good news
overshadows that. First and foremost,
our staff is healthy and we have not
had to make any payroll cuts. We
have increased some benefits as
our way of thanking them for their
continued efforts to keep the magazine
going during this crisis. Beyond that,
subscriptions and newsstand sales
are increasing, and our readers are
telling us that they are spending even
more time with their copies because
they have a built-up desire to go out
to restaurants, stores, events and
other entertainment opportunities.
Many businesses are preparing for
the rush they will experience once
the pandemic ends. Most businesses
are gearing up for a return of their
former customers in addition to new
customers gained from competitors
that fail to reopen.
Here at Tampa Bay Magazine, we
are staying proactive by changing
up our format to meet the current
situation. We are reducing the size
of some departments and increasing
our coverage of other things. It is a
constant balancing exercise, since the
situation seems to change daily.
Our office in Clearwater remains
open while we continue to provide
you with information you can use
and enjoy. There are continually
new discoveries to be made and
interesting facts to be learned, so we
are not concerned about running out
of content for you. Thank you for
being part of our continued existence,
despite the quarantine. We love being
here for you.
