Nocera’s vision is to help solve the traffic
congestion on Memorial Causeway, caused by an
estimated 36,000 cars a day of residents, employees
and tourists traveling between Clearwater,
Clearwater Beach and Island Estates. The need
for this type of transportation is obvious.
Nocera estimates the initial cost of this system
to be about $60 million, a sum that would be a
bargain for this type of solution. The city officials
are waiting for the system to be perfected and
for a demonstration model to be built in hopes of
establishing Clearwater as a leader in sustainable
public transit. 9
