Bryan and Joel Glazer,
two of Malcolm Glazer’s
six children, were given
the helm of the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers 25 years ago.
Malcolm Glazer became the new owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by paying $192 million,
the most money that had ever been paid for a professional sports franchise. He placed two of
his sons in charge and vowed to keep the team here. Bryan and Joel Glazer were football fans
who wanted the Bucs to win the Super Bowl, which the team did in 2003. For 25 years, the
Glazer family has made a positive impact on the Tampa Bay area, and family members are still
carrying on the dream of hoping to see the Bucs win the Super Bowl several years in a row.
Ruth Eckerd Hall president and CEO Robert
Freedman was recognized with a Clearwater

Clearwater a better place to live, work and visit.
The Clearwater Downtown
Partnership held its third annual
Momentum Awards ceremony
at the historic Capitol Theatre to
recognize those who worked for
the beautification and economic
revitalization of the city’s
downtown, where Clearwater
Mayor Frank Hibbard gave a
glowing “State of Downtown”
address that highlighted
developments such as the opening
of the downtown boat slips and
the beautification of Cleveland
Street. In 2020, Frank Hibbard was
re-elected mayor and is ready to
continue the work he pioneered
during his previous years as mayor
and a member of the City Council.
