This Dunedin bike rack, complete with Purple Heart
Medallions, commemorates the brave soldiers of the various
branches of the U.S. Military, and was unveiled during a
special dedication ceremony in the city’s Purple Heart Park at
the northeast corner of Main Street and Broadway (Alternate
19) next to Strachan’s Homemade Ice Cream in downtown

opportunities, the artistic bicycle initiative enables cyclists to find
designated, safe parking facilities, as they navigate comfortably
around Dunedin, its entertainment areas, restaurants, shops and
other facilities. Dunedin’s attractive way of promoting cycling
as a leisurely means of transportation for individuals, families
and groups provides residents and visitors with an alternative
mode of travel, while ultimately helping to reduce our carbon
footprint and encouraging the use of the Pinellas Trail, which
transverses between northern and southern Pinellas County
through the center of Dunedin.

the City of Dunedin, accommodates
the two-wheeled rides of visitors to
Dunedin Beach and Honeymoon Island
along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico,
conveniently near the Pinellas Trail on
the south side of the Dunedin Causeway,
west of Bayshore Boulevard (Alternate
19) in northern Dunedin.
