At Clear Sky Draught Haus, 680 Main
St. in Dunedin, (727) 286-6266, takeout is
easy with their reserved parking spaces
for pickup. The chef driven pub food here
travels well, even the pizzas from their
wood-burning oven. Since they filled the
parking area with tables and chairs, some
people order takeout and eat there under
pretty umbrellas.
For barbecue, we head to "Q" Southern
BBQ & Catering at 664 Main St. in Dunedin,
(727) 734-7227, where we get great burnt
ends and beef brisket sandwiches, along
with bourbon baked beans and Brunswick
stew. Their St. Louis ribs are dry rubbed,
smoked and then finished on the grill to
make them some of the best we have ever
had.
These are just some of the places we
have found that are doing an excellent job
of serving people during this pandemic by
carefully making takeout an integral part
of their business model.
If you have a favorite restaurant not
mentioned here, they too, have probably
started a takeout program. If so, please
patronize them because we want our local
restaurants to survive this crisis. Please
be generous with this industry that has
suffered so much from the spread of
COVID-19. They can only continue with
