Fashionably Fragile
The Imagine Museum is proud to have 20 works by American
glass artist Karen LaMonte in its permanent collection. Four of
these are from the artist’s “Etudes” series of glass sculptures,
inspired by the classical music of composers and by the Théâtre
de la Mode of 1945. LaMonte created the fragile “Etudes” works
as a declaration of the special importance of and our enduring
need for optimism, beauty and culture during difficult and
confusing times. The museum also has 16 pieces from LaMonte’s
“Floating World” series, which includes life-size glass kimonos.
The Imagine Museum is at 1901 Central Ave. S. in St. Petersburg,
(727) 300-1700.
Etude 11, 2017, a 25.5-inch by 25.5-inch by 9.25-inch cast glass
sculpture from artist Karen LaMonte’s “Etudes” series, is part of
the permanent collection at the Imagine Museum in St. Petersburg.
