Shine Mural Festival
an emphasis on Tampa Bay muralists. Ten new murals will be created to explore
the interconnectedness of human health and environmental health as we navigate
an ongoing global pandemic. Invited artists will be announced in September, and this
year’s event, Sea Walls: St. Petersburg, will be held November 7-14. The St. Petersburg
Arts Alliance is in need of sponsors. To become one, contact jenee@stpeteartsalliance.org.
The David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in
Tampa is using the era of COVID-19 to create a new
entry for the center’s arrival plaza while accommodating
the city’s changes to the configuration of Tyler and Cass
streets. Construction crews are busy moving forward
with modifications to the roadways around the Straz, so
that when the center reopens, the work will be complete.
The new entryway is sure to be an improvement for
theater-goers once the center’s entertainment schedule
returns to normal.
