Hospice Beach Stroll, helped kick off
this year’s 19th annual celebration of life
benefit walk, which took place virtually…..
Marie and Steve Beaty co-chaired “You
Heard It Through the Grapevine,” the
Dunedin Fine Art Center’s 40th annual
Garden Party, which normally takes place
on private lawns or in the art center, but
was a virtual version of the party, complete
with entertainment, auctions, wine, and
even a sponsor pre-party.....Rafael Sciullo
of Dunedin, president and CEO of Empath
Health, a nonprofit integrated network
of care for those affected by chronic or
advanced illness, thanked Bob and Kathy
Stahl of St. Pete Beach and their Stahl
and Associates Insurance for continually
being the presenting sponsor, and board
member Kathy Wilder of Clearwater for
chairing “Speakeasy Soirée and All That
Jazz,” the Suncoast Hospice Foundation
member of Empath Health’s 19th annual
Suncoast Hospice Ball fundraiser, which
of necessity went virtual this year.....Andy
Rufo, president and general manager of the
Francis Wilson Playhouse in Clearwater,
is proud that its talented musical allstars
have been safely preparing and
presenting original, themed musical
revues with Broadway connections at no
charge to fans and supporters on select
Friday nights since early May…..Andrea
Graham invited donors to “zoom in” for a
live virtual show and cast party presented
to benefit Stageworks, during which a
production of Robert Fulghum’s All I Really
Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten was
presented on two consecutive nights by the
Tampa theater group’s Impromptu Players,
directed by Karen Buesing and featuring
actors Kim Cummings, Kari Goetz,

Haley and John Ruetz, the general
manager of St. Pete Hospitality Group’s
400 Beach Seafood and Tap House and a
partner in its Annex 400 Beach, both in St.
Petersburg, announced the birth of their
first child, a son named John William
Ruetz III, whose doting grandparents are
Dr. Luis and Lauren Martinez and Nancy
and Steve Westphal, who all conveniently
live in St. Petersburg.....Janet Henderson,
owner/president of Caladesi Island Ferry
in Dunedin, took her daughters Jessica
and Jillian Nelson along with Jillian’s
husband Mike Daley and toddler Dex,
all of Dunedin, to the Longboat Key Club
for a family staycation.….Kay and Bob
Dillinger of St. Petersburg have been
staying at their river house a little north
of Brooksville.....Vevie and Lawrence
Dimmitt of Clearwater Beach spent time
at their home outside Highlands, North
Carolina.....Trudy and David Little of
Clearwater and their daughter Marie
Little, also of Clearwater, visited their
home in downtown Highlands, North
Carolina.....Dawn LaCross Davis and her
husband Jim Davis of Palm Harbor spent
five weeks at their getaway on Happy
Mountain in Gainesboro, Tennessee from
which they enjoyed side trips into North
Carolina.....Gail and Chip Gamble of
Dunedin summered at their place in
Chautauqua, New York, where they took
part in virtual learning experiences.....
Beth and John England of St. Petersburg
enjoyed staying at their summer retreat in
North East, Maryland, where they were
close to their grandchildren.....Dr. David
Hemerick and his wife Sally of Clearwater
chartered a plane to take family members,
including David’s sister Judy Hecker to
The Ranch at Rock Creek near Philipsburg,
Montana.....Elizabeth and Tom Sudderth
of Tampa attended his niece’s wedding in
Atlanta, so were unable to join her father
David Hemerick and his wife Sally for
their trip to Montana.....Jenny English and
Mario Ventura of Dunedin spent time at
their condo in Mexico’s resort city of Cabo
San Lucas, where temperatures were taken
at beaches, which were less crowded than
usual without cruise ship and sightseeing
boat passengers.....Ken Hamilton, owner
of the Palm Pavilion on Clearwater Beach,
and his brother, Clearwater Commissioner
Hoyt Hamilton, who are the lead sponsors
each year for Empath Health’s Suncoast
