HOW WE LABEL THE BLOCKS
We are going to show you how we will label the blocks in this tutorial. You will see the anatomy of a block page for each type of
quilt block. The Cornerstone fabric will be labeled with a star while the other secondary fabrics will be labeled with numbered
dots. You can see an example of a block labeled that way below. Just remember, the Cornerstone method will always start with
the first fabric being laid like a standard appliqué, with a placement stitch and tacking stitch to secure it, while all secondary
fabrics will be completed using our three-step folded fabric technique. This means that the base fabric of your quilt block will be
your Cornerstone fabric and therefore can be trimmed to the tacking stitch line since the folded fabric borders will later act as
your seam allowance. If you get lost in the folded fabric process, just remember to reference your design’s numbered machine
steps and you’ll be able to easily get back on track!
