Wade enjoys bow hunting, fishing and team roping and grew
up on a small farm in Boxholm, Iowa. His favorite rodeo is the
Tri-State Rodeo in Fort Madison, IA. In 2007, Sundell returned
to Saddle Bronc Riding after a four-year hiatus during which he
concentrated on Bull Riding. Sundell dedicated his 2009 Dodge
National Circuit Finals Rodeo victory to his grandfather, Cloyd
Sundell Jr., who died the week before the RAM National Circuits
Final Rodeo at age seventy-seven.
In July of this year, Wade Sundell and his partner, Shelby Janssen
and their baby Rankan, lost most of their possessions in a fire,
including trophies, saddles, and clothes.
If you would like to help out this rodeo family in their time of
need, gift cards, home goods, clothes, and any other items that
would be needed after experiencing such a loss. Donations can
be sent to either Rodeo Fame or directly to the family.
To send items directly to the family at the end of July when
Shelby returns home: Wade Sundell & Shelby Janssen
