Welcome to th is edition of Rodeo Life. We are so excited to feature Nellie
Miller on our cover and to have an opportunity to work wit h her, see her
interview on page 10. Our aim at Rodeo Life is to focus on the qualifying events
in rodeo, the competitors and the wonderful associations that support these
champions. We have seen the circuit and championship rodeos expand their
audience and today’s rodeos encompass a mass variety of generations, youths,
women and men who not only are highly competitive but are equally traditional
a nd involved with their communities. Cowboys and Cowgirls and their fans, of
all walks of l ife, have surged rodeo into a worldwide recognized phenomenon.
As we gear up for the National Finals Rodeo and the Junior National Finals
Rodeo in December, we’d like to take you on a journey w ith some of the
competitors that have earned their rightful place through hard work and
dedication. Take t he ride with us and get an inside look into what it takes to
be a rodeo queen with Taylor Spears, and six timer NFR champion bulldogger
Matt Reeves, to the inception of the Junior National Finals Rodeo and how they
made the NFR a destination.
Rodeo Life is a lifestyle, encompassing the culture, the communities, the
competitors, of rodeo… and we look forward to our next edition. Should you
like to contribute an article, or order a copy, please contact us. Maybe your
article w ill be featured in our NFR edition of Rodeo Life in December.
We would like to thank the PRCA and the PRCA Communications Staff for
the champion shots they provided for our featured competitor’s bios and their
support of the spor t.
