2017: Won the Lea County Fair & PRCA Rodeo (Lovington, NM),
the Yellowstone River Round-Up (Billings, MT) and the Apache
(OK) Stampede.
2016: Placed in eight rounds to rank third at the Clem McSpadden
National Finals Steer Roping. Set a record for most earnings
at a single NFSR with 70,651 dollars. Finished first in the World
Standings with 142,350 dollars. Won the San Antonio (TX) Stock
Show & Rodeo, the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, the Fallon County Fair
& Rodeo (Baker, MT), the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier
Days and Rodeo (Weatherford, TX), the Will Rogers Stampede
(Claremore, OK), the Journey to The Cross (Dodge City, KS) and
the RAM Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo (Duncan, OK).
2015: Placed in three rounds at the Clem McSpadden NFSR.
Won the RAM Prairie Circuit Final (Duncan, OK), the Will Rogers
Stampede (Claremore, OK), the Coleman (TX) PRCA Rodeo, the
Spokane 4th of July Steer Roping (Colbert, WA), and the Cushing
(OK) Community Rodeo. Finished eighth in the World Standings
with 73,021 dollars in earnings.
Rocky Patterson and his wife, Shelly, have two sons, Cole
and Caden. Rocky’s hobbies include golf and hunting and he
graduated from Chaparral High School in Anthony, KS.
Patterson started competing in rodeo in 1975. His parents are
Phillip and Marcella, and he has two brothers and three sisters.
His favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers and his Rodeo
idol is Guy Allen. Rocky was inducted into the Pratt, Kansas
Community College Athletic Hall of Fame on March 3, 2012
and served as Pratt’s rodeo coach from 1991-2000.
