NATIONAL REGISTERY
OF HISTORIC PLACES
After a lengthy application process, the City Of North Port Parks & Recreation is
proud to announce that they have partnered with an elite group of park and
recreation agencies across the country by earning national accreditation through
the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).
The property has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the
United States Department of the Interior.
This achievement recognizes the department for the quality of services and
experiences provided to the community. Less than two percent of the estimated
12,000 parks and recreation agencies nationwide earn this distinction.
On April 9, 2019, Commission approved the adoption of the Warm Mineral Springs
Park Master Plan. This plan includes a comprehensive analysis of the entire 81.6
acres and provides recommendations for future services and amenities. It does not
include approval for any financial commitments; those items will be discussed at a
later date.
