To start, hoop a piece of No-Show mesh and run the
squaring stitch.
NOTE: the squaring stitch refers to the stitch that
shows batting placement, even if the quilt block is
not rectangular.
The next machine step is the tacking stitch, which will
hold the batting in place.
Once trimmed, the block should look like this.
Place the batting on top of the squaring stitch, being
sure to cover it entirely.
Once tacked, trim away the excess batting up to the
tacking stitch.
Place a piece of fabric face up on top of the batting.
Make sure there is at least 1⁄2” seam allowance
on all sides.
