for its season opener in Week 2 on
the road at Rhea County Friday. Aug.
30, in Evensville, Tennessee.
The Mountaineers’ only open date is
Week 1, Aug. 23
After its road test in the Volunteer
state, Tuscola returns to C.E.
Weatherby Stadium Friday, Sept. 6,
to host arch-rival Pisgah in the 56th
Meeting of the County Clash.
The Mountaineers do have a
favorable schedule despite only
five home games. If Tuscola wants
to take back the Haywood County
Championship belt from the Black
Bears, they can do it on their home
field. Following the rivalry game,
Postell’s team will host Enka (Sept
13) before back-to-back road trips
to North Henderson (Sept 20) and
Smoky Mountain (Sept 27).
Then Tuscola gets into the meat
of the conference schedule with
back-to-back home games against
arguably the two toughest teams
in the WNC, Reynolds (Oct. 4) and
Asheville (Oct. 11).
The Mountaineers find themselves
on the road again on Oct. 18
at North Buncombe and West
Henderson on Oct. 25 before
returning to Weatherby to play
Roberson (Nov. 1) for Senior Night.
The regular season finale is at
Erwin (Nov. 8).
