“What If?” As we enter back into the new school year, I got to thinking
how exciting this time of the year is, as well as the sadness of
summer being almost over…
Then I got to thinking what a stressful time of the year this
is for so many with all of it’s added expenses. With kids
going off to college, and back to school etc. comes the new
shoes, clothes, school supplies, backpacks and lunch boxes,
teaching supplies etc. For many of us this does not apply
anymore, but you still walk into a store and feel the energy
and craziness of the season, and you either miss it, or you
are thankful to NOT be part of it! (LOL :) Then I got to
thinking…what if?…
What if we as a community helped to carry some of the
financial burden of this time of year….
What if those WITHOUT kids bought supplies, or shoes
or clothes, or backpacks for someone in need. What if we
WITH kids bought one less of anything, so that we could
help meet a need for another.

“What If” we bought a few less groceries, so that our
neighbor could have a few more. What if we chose not to
go see the newest movie at the best theater so that a family
that never gets the chance to go can go.
What if we gave supplies and gift cards to our teachers so
they would not need to spend their own money on supplies
for their classrooms.
What if we as a community did all of this and more

You say you can’t think of anyone to be a blessing to?
Look for “the one” you can see is struggling…put a gift under
their windshield wipers, pay for the groceries for the family
in the back of the line, pick up the tab for the retired couple
at a restaurant or the family at the next table. We are given
many chances “to do”. My question is, What if????
Until Later,
Love one another… Kelli Todtenhagen
