smart STUFF
This month’s Tiny Embroidered Pillows is a
charming project that promises little pillows
with ease! The simple-to-do project consists of
the embroidered front file, and will get finished
off with a back fabric all in the hoop, leaving
the filling up to you. In the collection tutorial,
we demonstrate using Poly-Fil to stuff these
cute little pillows, but you may be stumped for
other ideas. Depending on your filling, these
tiny pillows are the perfect project for a quick
and easy gift, or even a practical addition to
your sewing room. Stuff some Poly-Fil inside
and sew it shut to create the perfect pillow for
a doll to rest her head. Little ones will rejoice
knowing their favorite toys can take a nap right
next to them! Swap the Poly-Fil for potpourri
and you’ll have a wonderfully scented sachet
to leave around the house or pop in with a
present. If your papers tend to scatter or blow
in the breeze of open windows, use these little
pillows with some sand to create a charming
paper weight. Still stuck on creative ideas? Stick
a pin in these perfect pillows filled with some
steel wool to keep them sharp, or even rice to
create a pocket-sized hand warmer. We’ll give
you the run down of four different ideas, then
get to stitching one of your own!
