CREATING A PRINTED APPLIQUÉ BLOCK
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Take a piece of batting and place it over the squaring
stitches, being sure to cover them entirely.
To begin, hoop a piece of No-Show Mesh stabilizer and
load one of the blocks featuring standard appliqué (designs
OPW9-18). Run the first step of the design, which will be a
squaring stitch for the batting.
C D
Run the tacking stitch for the batting. Using a pair of scissors, trim away the excess batting from all
around the tacking stitch line.
E F
Continue on to the next placement stitch for the base fabric. Take a piece of base fabric and lay it right side facing up
over the block. Be sure your fabric is large enough to cover
the stitches on all sides.
