student or group of students. (Levels 2-4) Actions may result in charges being filed with the court system and/or being reported

26. BOMB THREAT (KRS 508.080)
Making a threat that a bomb has been placed, or is about to explode in a school. (Level 4) Actions may result in charges
being filed with the court system and/or being reported to legal and/or social authorities.
27. FALSE FIRE ALARM (KRS 519.040)
Falsely alerting the fire department or school to a nonexistent fire. (Level 2/Level 3) Actions may result in charges being filed
with the court system and/or being reported to legal and/or social authorities.
28. ARSON OR ATTEMPTED ARSON (KRS 513.01)
Starting a fire within the school or on the school grounds for any purpose that results in destruction or disruption. (Level 3/Level 4)
Actions may result in charges being filed with the court system and/or being reported to legal and/or social authorities.
29. INTIMIDATION OF WITNESS (KRS 524.040)
Any physical or verbal intimidation of any witness to any school violation. (Level 1/Level 2/ Level 3/Level 4) Actions may
result in charges being filed with the court system and/or being reported to legal and/or social authorities.
30. REPEATED VIOLATIONS
Repeatedly failing to comply with directions of teachers, student teachers, substitute teachers, teacher aides, principal or other
authorized school personnel during any period of time when the student is properly under the authority of school personnel.
(Level 1/Level 2 or 3/Level 4) Actions may result in charges being filed with the court system and/or being reported to legal
and/or social authorities.
31. NON-SCHOOL VIOLATIONS
Students will be subject to school discipline for any violation of this code with regard to school personnel and property during
non-school time. (Level 2/3/4) Actions may result in charges being filed with the court system and/or being reported to legal
and/or social authorities.
32. DEFAMATION
Harming another person's character or reputation by saying things which are not true and which are intended to bring harm.
(Level 1/Level 2) Actions may result in charges being filed with the court system and/or being reported to legal and/or social
authorities.
33. MISREPRESENTING FACTS
Knowingly deceiving school administrators and/or staff. (Level 1/Level 2) Actions may result in charges being filed with the
court system and/or being reported to legal and/or social authorities.
34. CELL PHONES/ OTHER COMMUNICATION DEVICES/ELECTRONIC DEVICES
(Including, but not limited to mp3/music players, handheld gaming devices, laser pointers, smart watches,
etc.)
All devices shall be powered off and kept out of sight during school hours . During periods of transportation, the device should not
create a distraction for the driver or passengers on the bus. Any such item observed by school personnel, not being used for instructional
purposes, shall be confiscated from the student in possession. Students should not use their device with camera to take photographs or
video of other students during the school day or while being transported to/from school to protect the privacy right requests of families.
On the first occurrence, students (or parent/guardian as determined by school policy and the principal) may pick up the item from the
principal and sign for it no sooner than the next school day. On the second occurrence, the item will be retained by the school for a 30-
day period and must be picked up by a parent/guardian. On the third occurrence, the item will be retained by the school for the
remainder of the school year and the parent will be called for conference. The school principal may determine the length that the item
will be retained. Repeated offenses will result in Level 1-4 disciplinary responses.
Students attending Knox County Learning Academy are prohibited from bringing any electronic device to school.
