ACHIEVEMENT
• Teachers shall maintain detailed, systematic records of the achievement of each student.
• A student's grade shall not be lowered as a disciplinary action.
GRADING SYSTEM
The following scale shall be used to indicate the progress of students in grades primary through 12th grade:
A (90-100) Excellent 4 points 5 points1
B (80-89) Above Avg. 3 points 4 points1
C 70-79) Average 2 points 3 points1
D (60-69) Below Avg. 1 point 2 points1
F (59 and below) Failure 0 points 0 points1

Students’ grades are to be updated in Infinite Campus at a minimum of once a week.
Knox Central High School uses Standards Based grading for students in grades nine through twelve (9-12). All nonacademic
data (ex: participation and homework) will not be calculated in the content grade. Non-academic data will only be used
as a measure of growth in student learning. Each course grade will be determined by summative assessment(s) only. Formal
formative assessments (benchmarks) are required to be completed by the student prior to the summative assessment. The
progress of students shall be evaluated by using the following:

ELEMENTARYAND MIDDLE SCHOOL
All report cards are issued every nine (9) weeks. Interim reports shall be made to parents during the fifth week of each period.
HIGH SCHOOL
Grade reports shall be issued every nine (9) weeks. Interim reports shall be made to parents during the fifth week of each grading
period. A comprehensive test may be given at the end of each semester. The semester test schedule shall be announced in advance.
All classes are counted in the ranking of students at the end of the semester.
NOTE: A weighted grade system is used for designated classes at both Knox Central and Lynn Camp high schools. Information
is available at each school.
